Colonel Yartsev and investigator Tatyana Tretyakova are investigating a mysterious attack on forestry employees near the Black Swamp. Local residents are in a panic, they believe that a werewolf has returned to the taiga and now they are all in danger. During an ambush on the beast, someone hits Yartsev on the head, and then disappears into an impenetrable swamp. It becomes clear to the policemans that it is not an animal, but a man, who is operating in the taiga. While investigating, Yartsev is constantly looking for a reason to confess his feelings to Tatyana, but the main character does not believe in the seriousness of his intentions...
